Nancy Drew Alibi In Ashes Nothing On Checklist

: We ran around collecting evidence, specifically everyone’s various alibis and fingerprints. As it turns out, everybody in River Heights hates Nancy’s guts and they’ve all just been waiting for the moment they can turn on her and rip her to shreds. It’s a pretty interesting take on the Nancy Drew canon, but I feel like it would be more effective if Nancy was ever like, actually home. If I were Nancy and my whole town hated me, I’d just be like, “Peace out, suckers,” and fly off to wherever the hell my next mystery is.Anyway, we’ve established that the fingerprints on the notes luring Nancy to town hall belong to Brenda. File that away for a bit later, because we still have some snooping to do.

We’ve looked through everyone’s crap except for Deirdre’s. In order to get Deirdre away from her table at Scoop, we have to talk to her, and when it comes to Deirdre, there’s only one person for the job.

WHAT UP, NED.For the third time today, we ask Ned to take Deirdre out on a date. Ned’s like, “this is starting to get weird, but okay.” This is tragic. Ned, you’re more than just a pretty face! Don’t let Nancy use your body this way!So as Ned, we hop back over to Scoop, and Deirdre is pissed at us.

You’ll recall that we already asked her out earlier, and then I guess Ned just ditched her. What the hell, Ned? Deirdre, I would never stand you up! Anyway, Ned’s like, “Oops. Traffic,” like this tiny town has any traffic to speak of. Man, Ned and Deirdre both need to love themselves, in completely different ways. Deirdre forgives us, and so now we call Nancy to hand the case off to someone else.Let’s be Bess.

I feel like, story-wise, it makes no sense for her to be at Scoop if she doesn’t do this bit.Deirdre’s notebook is lying there, tracking her progress through the Clues Challenge. Note all of Deirdre’s remarks, which are glorious. I think the greatest tragedy of Midnight in Salem‘s development hell is that we were this close to getting Deirdre as a solid secondary character, and it was all torn away from us. WE COULD HAVE HAD IT ALL.It’s also probably worth mentioning that while Deirdre is no super sleuth, her deductions actually aren’t bad.

This will come up in a later game.As it turns out, Deirdre got a speeding ticket the day of the fire. We have to go turn this in to Nancy, who will run it in the police computer system.Nancy puts the ticket in the system and notes that Deirdre was busted right by town hall, like five minutes before the alarm was switched off. Suspicious! Before we switch back out, let’s talk to Nancy’s dad about this whole representing-J.P.

First things first: Happy 12th Birthday Joshua!! Hope you have a great one! (This is a lightning bolt, Tesla-themed cupcake). I haven’t really spoken much about the message board lately, and I figured now is a grand time to do so! Ratz instagib aimbot download ps4. Nancy Drew: Alibi in Ashes is the 25th game in the Nancy Drew series of point-and-click mysteries from Her Interactive. It’s an impressive milestone to reach, especially considering that the.

Bennington business. Bennington was evil, Dad! How could you? Carson tells us that the evidence against Alexei was overwhelming, regardless of whether or not Carson thought he was guilty. For that matter, the jury seemed pretty set on putting Alexei away.

They were all, “Lock him up!” which Carson thought was pretty weird, but then he was like, “Whatever, not my problem.” He always felt bad about it, but not bad enough to ever stick up for Alexei or anything like that. And now let’s be Bess. Deirdre is back in her spot, and we confront her about her ticket. She claims just to be passing by: “I was speeding because I heard the neighborhood was full of dangerous criminals. For example, arsonists.” Oh, Deirdre. That’s all Bess can do — there’s no dialogue at the moment for Toni — so we switch to George. We have quite a bit to talk about with Alexei, now that we know all about his shady past.

We also want to know what he’s doing with the key to town hall’s alarm system. Alexei flips the fuck out and starts yelling about how HE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS FIRE and HE WON’T BE DRAGGED THROUGH THE MUD AGAIN! And now, he would very much like George to get the fuck out.So we leave, but we can just turn right around and talk to him again. I don’t know what happened to the steel trap memories the characters had in, but these characters don’t remember us talking to them at all. Maybe it was just a German thing. We bring up that he had ether in his trunk, and suggest that perhaps he used it to start the fire.

Alexei says that the ether probably would’ve evaporated or exploded by now. I feel like they skipped a line here. He’s implying, I guess, that the bottle is really old, but at no point is that made clear. Anyway, we finally get him to admit that he was at town hall for nefarious purposes, although not quite as nefarious as arson: he was trying to open the time capsule. When we ask why, he’s like, “None of your business!” Man, Alexei, if you don’t want us to be accusing you of crime, maybe be less suspicious.Since we’ve been visiting him so much in his shop, I guess we’re besties now, and we can unlock most of his tragic backstory. He admits to missing his boy detective days — “I used to be the Magnificent Markovic, Kid Detective. That wasn’t my nickname, that was who I was.

When it was gone, I was just Alexei — whoever that was.” Aw. He denies going after Nancy for revenge on Carson, though. If he had a problem with Carson, he’d take it out on Carson. I mean, if he could find him.

Maybe he went after Nancy because Carson’s always off in Australia or Kenya or wherever the hell, even though he’s a lawyer and really should be keeping his butt in town to do his work. But whatever!I wonder how Ned’s fake date with Deirdre is going? Ooh, maybe they’re falling in love for real! I can’t help it, I kind of love them:(Ned: “For a date set up under false pretenses with a girl who is not my girlfriendshockingly bad. Did you know that she’s mean even if she likes you?” HEE. He begs us not to make him go another date with her. Ned, I’m only George, I have no power here.

Submit your application to Nancy and see what she says.I will skip all my screencaps of bouncing around the various characters, trying to see how I should proceed. At this point, I had to stop sending the same characters to the same locations over and over, because there was absolutely nothing to talk about.

When I switched it up and sent Ned over to talk to Toni, he brings up the snowflake ice cube Nancy saw at town hall. “That’s some compelling evidence,” Toni deadpans. “Does she still have it?” Oh, ouch.We try to press her for details about the fire, but she politicians her way out of giving a straight answer. “Obviously it’s a sad moment in the town’s history, but the way this community has responded really shows off what’s great about this city, and this country.” Make River Heights great again!Back to Nancy. Do we have enough evidence to get out of jail yet?

No, no we don’t. Okay, let’s see.

We have to get that accelerant test thing from Nancy’s house, as well as stick Deirdre’s note on the board. And we need to break into that file cabinet at Scoop. And Bess gets to do all these things because I’m too lazy to switch characters. I feel like maybe I’ve been underutilizing Ned, but he’s kind of only here to flirt information out of Deirdre. So over at Nancy’s house, we pick up the chromatograph chart, and then we drop it off at the police station.Actually, since we’re here, we might as well say hi to Alexei. Bess walks in andpromptly knocks over this vase.

Oh, well, that sucks, but it can’t be that big of a deal, right? Sorry, Alexei!“Oh, did you hear that, vase? She’s sorry that you made the long trek from China to Europe where you survived two world wars and countless natural disasters, only to be unceremoniously kicked to death by some space cadet for no reason!” Hey, what the hell! Maybe don’t put your priceless vases in the middle of the room where anyone could knock them over, Alexei.Aaaand with that done, he kicks us out of the antique shop. Old stuff is boring anyway! You know, Toni gives me free ice cream, Alexei. Maybe if you gave away ice cream instead of being a dick this town wouldn’t hate you anymore. That really hurt.

Let me just eat my feelings for a bit here.Okay, so there’s this puzzle to unscramble, which you do not have to actually do to find any clues, it just eats up enough time that the delivery truck comes again. Once Toni leaves, we can go back into the supply closet.“It’s locked. I sound just like Nancy.” Hee.So there’s a book in Nancy’s room that will tell us how to correctly pick the lock of the file cabinet. The picks have to be placed in the lock in order — blue at top, green at top right, red bottom left, and yellow bottom right.

Then you have to click on them in order (R, Y, B, G, G, G, B, R, Y, R, B), and the cabinet will open. The cabinet opens up, and we find all of Toni’s secrets. First off: as suspected, she hates Nancy and wants to see her taken down.

Toni’s not a fan of how Nancy’s crimebusting makes the police look bad (I mean, I think the police losing their keys all over Pancake City and letting their suspects roam freely around the station makes them look plenty bad on their own, but whatever), and it’s causing approval levels to drop. Approval levels of Toni? It’s unclear. Anyway, Toni says the town has to show that their tolerance for “Ms. Drew and her cohorts” is over. Wait, does that include Bess?

We thought you liked us, Toni! You keep giving us all that free ice cream! And Toni has development plans for town hall — she wants to turn the land into a “mixed-use complex.” SUSPICIOUS!By the way, I think everything I know about land development has come solely from detective novels.

It just doesn’t come up in my real life that often. We call Nancy and update her on this, and ask how she’s holding up. “It could be worse,” she says. Yeah, like for example, she could still actually be in a cell instead of wandering around looking through all the police’s stuff and eating candy. Nancy says that without her friends, this would be the worst experience of her life — “and I get knocked unconscious and thrown into a dungeon every other week.” Hey, that second part only happened once, Nancy. Don’t exaggerate. And we’re Nancy again. She calls her dad and asks him to look into Toni’s development deals; we’ll have to call him back in a bit to get word on that.

Now let’s look at the chromatograph results. The results match with the chart for isopropyl alcohol, so it look like that’s our accelerant.

Gasoline, not isopropyl alcohol, was found on Nancy’s clothes, ergo, we did not start the fire! And that is the only “We Didn’t Start the Fire” joke I will be making, you’re welcome. As Bess, we can confront Toni about how it would have been very convenient for her if the town hall burned down. Toni does not call us out on snooping through her file cabinet, even though it’s hella obvious that we were.

Instead, she snides that the multi-use complex is merely a proposal, and if she were us, she would cool it on the accusations. Don’t tell me what to do, Toni. But she’s not mad enough at us to withhold free ice cream.Alrighty, so I was trying to eat up time, waiting to call Nancy’s dad about Toni’s deals. However, he’s still not done, so let’s just arrange all our evidence now. Maybe we’ll hear back from Carson Drew once we’re out of jail. We put all of our clues and notes under the right suspects, and call Chief McGinnis. He confirms that this is enough to set us free, and so, we can now waltz out of jail.

Later, Chief McGinnis! See you when we solve this mystery!Let’s hit up Scoop. Bess wails that she’s about to die of ice cream poisoning.

Oops, maybe I shouldn’t have made her eat all of that ice cream.Meanwhile, Deirdre: “Look what the cat dragged out of the jail.” “Good to see you were so concerned.” “Oh, I’m sorry if that was misleading. I wasn’t concerned.” I’m running out of ways to say that I love Deirdre. I have never in my life loved a suspect more. I want to sit here and be insulted by her all day. Is that weird? I really don’t know.

Anyway, Nancy wants to know why Deirdre was following her the day of the fire, and Deirde says it’s because she thought Nancy was cheating. Nancy clutches her pearls all, “How could you think such a thing?!” “Because I was cheating,” Deirdre says. “I thought we were all cheating!” HEE!Deirdre reveals that she knew Bess was spying on her all along — “I’m not spying!” Bess calls from her table.

Deirdre: “The fact that you responded proves my point.” Bess: “Oh. Shoot.” Nancy attempts to one-up her by passive-aggressively thanking her for giving away everything she knows to Ned, but Queen Deirdre is unflappable. “Your boyfriend’s cute, and you were in the clink,” she says. When you think about it, she was helping! Besides, she adds, “I was just window-shopping.”Aaand Deidre is about as nice as they get. Let’s go around and talk to the rest of our suspects. Toni assures us that we had her support this whole time, which is a filthy goddamn lie.

We can call her on it, or not. Two can play this passive-aggressive game! She and Nancy exchange jabs about how it wasn’t very fair to make Nancy take the fall, but government’s not fair, so that’s that. I gotta say, it is both novel and frustrating how getting accused of shit doesn’t make the characters clam up in this game. I’m used to them cowering when I hit them with the truth, not turning around and snarking me into oblivion. And then there’s Brenda. She asks us how we’re feeling, off the record. “You’re still holding your microphone,” Nancy deadpans.

We chat with Brenda for a bit, mostly going over stuff she’s already told other characters — but then we note, interestingly, that she always manages to be the first person on the scene. She blows us off and says she’s just efficient. Could she be usingsecret tunnels? I’m just saying, the only thing missing in this game so far is a secret tunnel. Then we try to call her out on, you know, trying to get us locked up forever. She claims to want to balance individual privacy and fact-checking with the public’s need to know, and Nancy notes that she didn’t exactly do that with Nancy’s case.

Brenda’s like, “Alternative facts! Bye!”We get another one of her business cards, so Nancy has her phone number as well.We stop in to see Alexei, who’s all hype that we’ve been released. He totally believed us all along! I meanI guess he never did say anything bad about Nancy, but his support was still a little difficult to discern, being buried under all the insults he was hurling at our friends. I guess Alexei likes us because he’s all “I know that feel” about being betrayed by your town and accused of crimes you didn’t commit. He offers to help us.Alexei admits to going inside town hall the day of the fire — so he might be the possible second person spotted inside — because he was looking for the time capsule. He thought there might be proof of his innocence in there, but given the fire and all, it’s probably gone now.We get the final piece of his backstory, which is that when he was a kid, someone threw a rock through his family’s window.

His parents didn’t want to go to the police, as that wasn’t “done” where they were from. I like the acknowledgment of immigrants here, and the way having immigrant parents influenced Alexei. #relatable, tbh. Alexei never figured out who threw the rock, but it woke him up to how even nice towns have their seedy underbellies. Don’t we know it, Alexei.Alright, time to distract Brenda! We call her to give her a fake alert for a news story. She clears out of the van, and now we can snoop around. And we immediately see that Brenda has a bottle of isopropyl alcohol just lying around!

Suspicious! What we wanna do here is note that Brenda’s in the middle of editing an interview she did with Bess. Brenda’s doing her “Have you stopped beating your wife?”-style questions here, while poor dumb Bess stumbles through her answers, trying to exonerate Nancy but mostly just digging her hole deeper. “You took what I said and you screwed it all up!” Bess bleats. “Oh, Bess,” Nancy sighs. We note that Deirdre’s just hanging around there in the background. It looks like she’s talking to someone on her phone. Hmm, let’s see if we can adjust the audio to pick up what she’s saying.

I don’t think we’ve had an audio mixing puzzle since. What a throwback. We want to adjust the levels (top row) and frequencies (bottom) to isolate Deirdre’s voice. When that’s done, we hear Deirdre rambling that she was following Nancy, ergo whatever she’s looking for has got to be here — but she can’t find it. Hmm.Above the mixing station is a clipboard with a key and Brenda’s schedule. We note that Brenda has an insane amount of interviews scheduled, yet there’s also a note from her editor praising her for making it to all of them on time. How is that even possible?Secret tunnel!

Secret tunnel! Chug! The key opens up another cabinet in the van, where we find this rejection letter from a cable news corporation. It looks like Brenda tried to sell them her story on the antiquities exhibit, but they rejected it because Nancy broke the story first. Wait, shouldn’t the credit go to the person who wrote up the story after Nancy solved it? It’s not like Nancy’s a journalist. When you think about it, this whole thing is Miranda August’s fault for directing all of Brenda’s rage towards Nancy. Miranda is the real culprit of this game.It looks pretty clear that Brenda is our culprit, although I guess there’s still time for a last-second surprise.

Now, though, we have to figure out the methods behind her shady reporting. We go to Deirdre first — she has no idea how Brenda gets around town so quickly, but she does know about the note that was left for us. She tells us that there was a first note, left on Nancy’s porch (I think that’s the one she gave to Ned), which Deirdre intercepted and followed, but nothing happened. The next time a note was left for Nancy, Deirdre let Nancy take it and followed her instead. Then boom, fire.“Why are you admitting all this?” Nancy asks.

“I thought you hated me.” Deirdre shrugs: “I hate you. But I don’t hate you. It’s complicated. I just truly enjoy hating you, and I’d hate for something to happen to throw off our equilibrium.” “Thanks,” Nancy says, all touched.

“That’s really nice of you.”“And that’s why I hate you. So much positivity,” she snaps. “Also, you’re welcome.” Heh. Deirdre cares, you guys! So, Bess, we saw that interview where you totally fucked up and made the town think Nancy was an arsonist (again, some more). Bess is like, “Yeah, sorry about that.” Nancy’s like, “It’s okay, Bess, I’m used to you being a fuckup by now.” I do think it’s a little disappointing that they made Bess such a lol quirky mess after she was so competent in. Anyway, we talk to Bess about all the roadwork in town, and how shitty traffic is — particularly on the days Brenda’s had interviews.

And yet she made them all on time! Bess shrugs that Brenda either can be in two places at once, or she has a secret route no one knows about.

(Secret tunnel through the mountain!)If anyone knows about secret routes through the town, it would probably be someone on the city council, yes? Toni confirms that there are tunnels under the town, leftover from when everyone was worried about nuclear fallout from the Cold War. They’ve been locked for years, though, and Toni doesn’t think it’s possible to find a way in. Pfft, Nancy Drew always finds a way, Toni.(What town doesn’t have underground tunnels? I think Portland’s are the most famous due to the shanghai tunnels myth, but Seattle has an entire underground too, and I just found out recently that even, Oklahoma does.)We can also talk to Alexei; he doesn’t say much, but does confirm the existence of the tunnels.

He says they’re actually from before the Cold War, and were used by smugglers. He doesn’t think it’s a good idea to help us get into the tunnels, since they’re so dangerous, but if we really wanted to know, one of his books might be able to help.

Dynasty warriors 8 ps3. However, this sequel takes the much loved IP one step further, merging numerous replay elements like multi-endings and extra modes with synergies between action and game systems, making a game that people won't want to put down. DescriptionAs with previous titles in the series, Dynasty Warriors 8 follows the stories of the kingdoms of Wei, Wu, Shu and Jin through the actions of historical military and political figures of the time as they fight to gain control over the Three Kingdoms of China.

Oh my God, just frickin’ tell us, Alexei. For some reason, Alexei has this relatively recent newspaper article framed on his wall. Do you even know these kids, Alexei? Anyway, they talk about what they think is in the time capsule. Karen, age 8, wants to know: “Did they even have things that long ago?

I think it’s probably empty.” Heh.So we find a book called Dust & Dirt on Alexei’s shelf, and in the back cover of the book, we find this paper. Ah, it looks like Alexei bought the antiques shop partially because he’s a sad old guy, and partially because the entrance to the tunnels is right in front of the shop. This paper is a guide for getting around the tunnels, and it’s absolutely useless because the tunnels are completely soul-sucking, but we’ll get to that. Let’s pretend I understand what this paper says, and get ready to go into the tunnels! But wait, what’s parked right outside of the antiques shop? OMG, Brenda is totally using the tunnels to get around, and she probably has a trapdoor in that van parked right over the entrance.Hello, Brenda!

We are here to accuse you of crimes and shame you into turning yourself in! That’s the Nancy Drew way! Brenda admits to it all — she left us the notes and lured us into town hall — “All I need to know now is whether you were trying to frame me, or trying to kill me.” “They both would’ve made a great story,” Brenda says. We bring up the antiquities story, and Brenda snaps that it’s not just that — it’s Nancy in general, and how obnoxiously chipper she is and how much the town loves her. HA!Nancy’s all, “You’ll never get away with this!” We have proof all over the place, and when we’re done, Brenda will be publicly shamed and put in jail like every other Nancy Drew culprit. It will be you who is run out of town, Brenda! Brenda tells us that it’ll be too late — in like two minutes she’s going be out there, spinning this fake news story as hard as she can, and blowing it up on social media with the help of the Russians.

And now, she has a story to air. Bye!Alexei, help!

Brenda’s going to air her story calling Nancy an arsonist, and ruin her reputation! I don’t wanna end up with your depressing life! Alexei advises us to go on the offense — we have to track Brenda down and expose her, just like she’s planning to expose us. Sodo the same thing we did with? It’s not like Nancy is new at this.We call Ned, and he offers to go up to Mapleton, wherever the hell that is. He has connections up there, and he can get the story out about Brenda before River Heights news reaches Mapleton. Uh, that’s nice and all, but Nancy doesn’t live in Mapleton.

It makes Ned feel useful, so let’s go ahead and let him do that.Let’s call Carson. He’s a little behind on the uptake, because I forgot to call him earlier. As such, he tells us that he found out that Toni has a huge stake in the complex development deal, and she would benefit immensely if the town hall burned down. Nancy’s all, “So she has a motive!”, but we already found out that she’s not the culprit, so let’s move on. Dad, Brenda’s trying to frame me for arson!

Carson’s like, “That’s rough, buddy. We’ll get through this.” Uh, Carson, if Brenda gets away with her story, Nancy’s going to actually go back to jail. You could be a little more concerned!

Maybe it’s time to come back from Australia! The person we wanna talk to now is George, as you’ll recall one of her three character traits is being good with computers. She also looks much less tragic than she did in, so that’s nice.Iprobably should’ve talked to George any time before now, because we basically can recap the whole game with her. We ask what she knows about Alexei; after hanging with him in his shop for so long, George feels kinda bad for him now.

She suggests that after this case, we clear his name next. Aw.Anyway, George can help us stop Brenda’s broadcast; we just need to get a battery for her.

There’s one in Nancy’s room, so we go up to fetch it. When we come back down, someone throws a rock through Nancy’s window. Oh my God, we’re turning into Alexei, help! There’s a note on the rock that says, “Arsonists will get a taste of their own medicine!” Are they threatening to burn down Nancy’s house? That’s pretty creepy.Anyway, so George has put together a jammer to stop Brenda’s broadcast, at least for a little bit. We have to turn on the connectors for her, which is a puzzle.

It’s one of those rotating piece puzzles, like the sink in or the vent pipes in. Once all the lines are connected, George gives us the jammer and tells us to put it on the antenna of Brenda’s van. She tells us that the battery will only last about 30 minutes — she heard from Ned that winning over the Mapleton crowd isn’t going too well (probably because they’re just like, “Who the fuck is Nancy Drew”), but she and Bess will go down to the news station and try to sweet talk management into blocking the broadcast, or maybe George can do it on-site. In the meantime, Nancy should try to stop Brenda within the next 30 minutes. No pressure or anything!Let’s go down to Scoop and see what our suspects have to say for themselves, now that we have proof we’re not the culprit. Sweetly, Deirdre says that she hates Brenda, so she’s glad Nancy’s at least taking down someone terrible.

“I wish I could help, she’s the worst,” Deirdre says.Toni, though. Frickin’ Toni.

We’re all like, “Brenda is the culprit! WHAT NOW!” and Toni’s like, “Hmm, interesting.” We tell her she has to help us. I don’t think that I do.” She smoothes that Nancy makes it so difficult to get things done, and she’s so tired of cleaning up after us. So if Brenda wants to go ahead and make us take the fall for her, Toni’s just fine with that. Oh, fuck you, Toni.

I will not be voting for you next election! Flip her seat!We can also accuse her of setting the fire, on account of finding out about her connection to the complex, but we’re way past that already, so I’ll skip it.Before following Brenda and starting the end of the game, we can have a final conversation with Alexei — we commiserate over the struggles of being kid detectives, and clear the air between him and Carson. Alexei wants to know why we trusted him, and Nancy says that her dad thinks Alexei is worth trusting. Alexei is touched by this.Yeah, alright, sappy moment over. Let’s go jam Brenda’s broadcast. She’s out of her van, so we can find a panel that connects to the antenna inside. The goal is to connect the same color wheels without any of the lines crossing.Once that’s done, a key will fall out from, uhsomewhere.

It looks pretty old, too.We can look at the floor of the van, and find a trapdoor, that’s right over a metal hatch. Nancy IDs it as the entrance to the tunnels, and parking over it is how Brenda gets around so quickly. So down into the tunnels we goAnd we find door 5C21B, the same combo that’s on Brenda’s key.Inside, we find mountains of evidence. To the left: bottles full of isopropyl alcohol! To the right: a bag with a snowflake-shaped ice cube tray, alcohol, a matchbox, and a red hair wig. Oh my God, Brenda was running around town in a Nancy wig, trying to impersonate her. That is hilarious. With all that discovered, let’s back up and turn around. This triggers Brenda’s entrance, and — oh my God, she has a picture of Nancy on her wall for target practice.

You so crazy, Brenda. Anyway, Brenda’s found our jammer, and gloats that we can’t stop her now.

She confirms that she uses the tunnels to get around — honestly, we have spent a lot of dialogue on whether or not Brenda uses the tunnels, for something that’s fairly obvious — and tells us that she chose Nancy as her fall guy, because otherwise Nancy would’ve screwed everything up for her. Her final key to victory is a random VHS tape — what is with villains and VHS tapes? It’s 2011, Brenda!

— thatis incriminatingsomehow. She doesn’t bother to tell us.

Then she locks us in, and a countdown starts. We have to get out of the tunnels before Brenda broadcasts her story. We take our evidence and a screwdriver, which we can use on a hidden door, behind the pile of boxes. To freedom! And by freedom I mean, “the most convoluted endgame puzzle in the history of time.”Do I understand this puzzle? Not particularly.

We want to go through the doors with the correct symbol on them, based on that page we found in Alexei’s book.Doors.More doors.Still more doors.OH MY GOD, PLEASE RELEASE ME FROM THIS HELL.Finally, finally, we make it to the end of the maze, and we head up the ladder to bust Brenda. We find a necklace with the Clues Challenge symbol hanging in the maze, which is proof ofsomething. I don’t know.Once we make it to freedom, we go to Chief McGinnis and tell him everything. It turns out that we didn’t stop Brenda’s broadcast, but that’s probably for the best — in the middle of her speech about how Nancy is a violent criminal, the police come on camera and arrest her. Suffer, Brenda.

Nobody besmirches Nancy’s name and gets away with it!So Brenda gets hauled off to jail, where she’s doing the weather news, with what looks like about the same accuracy as her reporting. According to her map, the entire west coast doesn’t even have weather! #FakeNewsToni’s public approval score drops dramatically after the reveal that she’s mildly psychotic and is willing to throw anyone and everyone under the bus in her quest for political glory. She might also be the Zodiac killer. No one is sure.Toni is no longer running for reelection, but she does still work at Scoop. Nancy muses that they might have to find another place to get ice cream.

It’d be funny if Nancy opened up her own ice cream shop and ran Toni out of business, too.The time capsule turned out to have survived the fire, so they opened it up to see what’s inside. It turns out that Bennington’s “stolen property” (whatever that was) was inside the whole time, so Alexei’s been exonerated, too. They’re thinking of turning the demolished town hall into a museum, and he might get to be head curator. Everything’s coming up Alexei!I dunno, man. If I were him, I’d still be pretty pissed for the whole 30+ years of social ostracization thing.

Alexei is more forgiving than I.Deirdre throws a Clues Challenge party, and doesn’t invite us. This guts me more than anything.

I LOVE YOU, DEIRDRE:( Please invite me to your parties!Everyone in town gathers to beg Nancy’s forgiveness, and they shower her with fruit baskets and shit to apologize. Again, if I were her, I’d be like, “You guys threw a fucking rock through my window,” but whatever.Nancy and her friends win the Clues Challenge, like anyone was still keeping track of that. They get to choose an object to put in the time capsule, and by “they” I mean “Nancy.” She hints to us that we might be able to guess what it is — if you look at her desk, you can see that the “How to Be a Detective” book is missing, so I guess that’s what it is. Wait, but then how are new players gonna figure out how to play the game?

You didn’t think this through, Nancy.“Finally,” Nancy dorks, “I couldn’t have gotten through everything without help from the best friends a girl could have.” The real culprit was the friends we made along the way!Wait, who is she writing this letter to? Is it Carson? Is he still sitting on his ass in Australia all, “Hmm, I hope my daughter doesn’t have to go back to jail”? For fuck’s sake, Carson!THE END.
