MotorStorm: Pacific Rift - Vehicle DatabaseMotorstorm: Pacific Rift Vehicle Databaseby Hogieman27.BIKE.Bikes are good for the high roads and great speed. They fly the farthest off oframps and are narrow for sliding past a crowd of big rigs. Their strongest areais definitely acceleration that calls for unexpected lead changes. Bikes arelight in weight and are fit for stable terrain. They have a tendency to slidein muddy conditions and to crash when around larger vehicles.Strongest Area.

Acceleration.Weakest Area. Durability.ATV.ATVs major in traction. They are also light weight and have good speed, buthandle well in multiple surfaces. They have better stability than the bikesbecause of 4 wheels instead of 2 and can take the high road.

ATVs are thestrongest in gripping the sand, dirt, mud, and gravel while maintainingcontrol. They flip easily due to light weight and can be crushed.Strongest Area. Traction.Weakest Area. Durability.BUGGY.Buggies are average in most aspects of the vehicles, except for theirpansy-ness.

Usually, after sliding into a turn, they trip up or bump a sign andwreck. They aren't very durable but have good terrain handling andacceleration. Their strongest area would be that they do well at most or all ofthe tracks.

MotorStorm 2 is a follow-up to the manic PS3 desert racer MotorStorm.

They are weak in the sense of durability.Strongest Area. Acceleration.Weakest Area. Durability.RALLY CAR.The Rally Car is definitely the fastest of the vehicle classes. They can shootpast any given vehicle and can take a few hits. They are big enough to forcebikes and ATVs into dangerous places, but still do not contest to Big Rigs andMonster Trucks. Rally Cars excel the most in speed and acceleration, and arethe last vehicles with crashing issues. Their best zone would be the water zonebecause they can still go fast without using boost, which will be replenishingwhile racing.

Although they seem pretty all-around, they are not very gooddealing with various terrains and slide more than expected.Strongest Area. Speed.Weakest Area. Terrain Handling.MUDPLUGGER.A Mudplugger's title is perfectly fitting towards its control on multipleterrains. Their above-average speed and durability offsets their below-averageacceleration and maneuverability. At first glance the Mudplugger would be thebest vehicle to drive in terms of balanced traits, but after doing yourresearch you would think twice.

It is a great vehicle choice nonetheless, butits lack of picking its way through the crowd will bring you down in somesituations. Mudpluggers are great with handling the surfaces that Pacific Riftdeals out, but are downgraded with not being nimble.Strongest Area. Terrain Handling.Weakest Area. Traction.RACING TRUCK.Racing Trucks are, in my opinion, the most well-rounded vehicle in theMotorstorm series. Throughout both games, I have found only one weakness: itsability to weave around obstacles. They hit the jumps great, they can contestwith the larger vehicles and smaller vehicles, and they can win in the mud orfire. They can take hits and maintain good speed, and while accelerating theycan grip the terrain to make a usually fatal turn.

They minimize sliding andremain stable regardless of the other vehicle's aggression. The strongestcharacteristic of Racing Trucks is everything except not being able to dodgethat pesky tree or sign standing in the way of you and victory.Strongest Area.

Traction.Weakest Area. Maneuverability.BIG RIG.While playing the first Motorstorm, usually your heart would sink when theevent was to race in a Big Rig. They have improved its weaknesses in PacificRift by increasing its speed. But like the original game, they still accelerateas fast as an orange would roll down a hill.

That aspect really pulls down theoverall appearance of the Big Rig, but one that boosts it up is its ridiculousdurability. It seems that nothing can bring it down except for a good shovefrom a fellow Big Rig, and that really pays off for its lack of speed. WhileBikes and Rally Cars would be flying by you and crashing, being in a Big Rigmakes it so that you chug along at a tortoise's pace without worrying aboutwrecking that much. They really cannot turn when you want them to and slide anunwantingly high amount.Strongest Area. Durability.Weakest Area. Acceleration.MONSTER TRUCK.Finally, for the new addition, there is the Monster Truck. The various racingsurfaces really do not affect them, for they just roll over them all like itwas tarmac.

They also have no problem with other vehicles getting in their way,and this is when their giant tires come into effect. They unrelentingly crushall other vehicles except the Big Rig, where they fight for position.

The game can be completed but almost all levels run at 150% of original speed and are higher in pitch. A workaround to fix this is to set your game speed to 66% (this makes the audio run at 100% speed) but the pitch is not corrected. MonsterTrucks are slightly faster than the Big Rigs, but any moderately sharp turnwill flip them, causing frustration. There is convenience in the Monster Truckswith terrain handling, and are a great choice for freestyling.Strongest Area. Terrain Handling.Weakest Area. Maneuverability.
